Well worth a visit, Gibraltar’s frontier is open 24 hours a day to enable you to cross the border by car or on foot with your passport of course!
There are many things to do in Gibraltar, most popular of course is ‘The Rock Tour’, which takes you around Gibraltar and includes St. Michael’s Cave (prepared as an emergency hospital in World War II but never used) amongst others.
There is a cable car situated near the Rock Hotel, at the far end of the shopping area.
This will take you to the top of the Rock of Gibraltar.
There are often an abundance of apes roaming around the Rock – a species of tailless monkeys called Barbary Macaques.
These Macaques can be found in Morocco and Algeria, with those in Gibraltar being the only free-living monkeys in Europe today.
Beware of having any food in your hands, as often the apes will steal this from you and they have also been known to bite! Keen dolphin watchers will enjoy a trip to spot some of the large population of wild dolphins to be found in the Bay of Gibraltar.
