TRAVEL DOCUMENTS & INFORMATION

When we have received your signed booking form and deposit, we will send, where

relevant your receipt, invoice, and confirmation of accommodation. Please check the details immediately to ensure they are correct. Upon receipt of payment for the balance of the invoice we will send you a final receipted invoice. Your accommodation vouchers, and directions to your accommodation will be sent approximately two weeks prior to your departure. It is very important that you check all your travel documents carefully and notify us within two days of receipt if there are any discrepancies. Although we check thoroughly all the documents we send to clients, misunderstandings can occur especially if holiday details have been altered.

PASSPORTS

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they are in possession of a valid passport and any visa necessary. At time of publication UK citizens require a full 10-year passport valid for the entire length of their stay and no visa, unless staying over 90 days. All children and married women travelling alone must have their own passports unless the children are currently included on an adult’s passport and are 15 years or younger. It is wise for newly married couples to make sure flight tickets are booked in the same names that appear on their passports at time of departure. Passports for travel to Spain will need to still be valid for 6 months after departure from the UK.

From October 2006 all first-time applicants for a UK passport who are over the age of 16 will have to attend an interview. This means that the application process will take longer. If you are 16 years old or over and haven’t yet got a passport, our recommendation is that you should apply for one at least six weeks before your holiday. The UK Passport Service has to confirm your identity before issuing your first passport and from October 2006 will ask you to attend an interview in order to do this.

We suggest that citizens from other countries outside the UK contact their own embassy for current details.

HEALTH & SAFETY

At the time of publication no vaccinations were normally required for visitors from the UK to Spain. Please consult your GP if in doubt. Spanish health and safety standards may vary from those in the UK. Our property owners/agents are asked to acknowledge that they comply with any local rules or regulations that are applicable, but we point out that these may differ from the UK standards or personal views of individual clients.

We apologise for this but are unable to accept responsibility as these regulations are beyond our jurisdiction.

If you or any member of your party is an expectant mother or suffers from any serious medical condition, you must check with your doctor about the advisability of travelling abroad and inform Horizon Abroad prior to booking. We reserve the right to refuse a booking in these circumstances. We take the safety of our customers very seriously. Unfortunately crimes against people and property are a fact of life throughout the world and you have the same responsibility for your personal safety as you do at home. We therefore advise all clients to be extra vigilant and ensure that great care is taken of your property. In the event that you should lose any items of value while on holiday through theft or otherwise, you must report the facts immediately to the local police or other competent authority and obtain a written report. If a report is not obtained it will be difficult for you to pursue any claim through your holiday insurance.

The Foreign and Commonwealth office produces up to date travel information to

help British travellers make informed decisions about travelling abroad.

FLIGHT CHECK-IN TIMES

In most instances check-in times advised by airlines are minimums. These can be two or three hours prior to departure on charter services and one hour on scheduled. We strongly advise that if you wish to be seated together, arriving earlier will afford you greater choice of seat allocation.

Our swimming pools are not heated.

Maintenance and cleaning of swimming pools is the responsibility of the communal management agency. We cannot accept responsibility for clients’ safety in connection with swimming pools or for the closure of pools for routine maintenance or repairs. Pools are normally open during summer months but the exact dates vary from property to property and are subject to local climatic conditions. We would ask clients to read the appropriate depth markings and notice boards for each development.
