Tennis is as popular as ever on the Costa del Sol, which has facilities adaptable to all ages. The tennis facilities in Spain have inspired great players in the past and the weather is the key. Tennis can be played year round here, and most of the courts have floodlighting. There are plenty of private clubs along the coast and we include several here; which are within easy reach of our town house and open to the public.

Club de Tenis Bel Air - 0034 952 883 221

Very close to our Bel Air Platinum complexes, this tennis club is open to non- members and has many courts including clay courts. Charge per hour 15 euros per hour.

They are a very friendly club welcoming players of all standards and have recently been used in conjunction with our accommodation for groups from the Warwickshire Lawn Tennis Association. The club has nine tennis and four padel courts with two of the tennis courts of Spanish red clay and 7 hard. The Padel courts, one of which is a new class back court, are all astro turf.

The club has new changing facilities and a new terrace area for relaxing after your exertions.

All are welcome and we strongly recommend a visit just to enjoy the atmosphere and maybe take that long awaited bit of exercise.

There is a team of highly experienced Tennis Pro´s headed by Sergio Gomez who was once on the circuit ranked 323 in the world and 23 in Spain, and offer a complete coaching programme for both children and adults. Tel 0034 952 883 221.

Mansfield's - 0034 952 888 106

Mansfield's is at the popular Benavista complex between San Pedro and Estepona (close to Vista Golf). It is a non-membership club, where any of the five excellent courts can be rented for around 7 euros per hour, with paddle tennis at the same price.

El Madroñal Country Club - 0034 852 785 307

El Madroñal Country Club has tennis courts and a school. It is open to non-members and located on the San Pedro to Ronda road at km 164 (close to Montealmendros).

El Casco Tennis Club - 0034 952 837 651

El Casco Tennis Club has six clay and four hard courts. Urb. El Rosario, km188 on the N340 (close to Princesa Kristina).

Los Grandos Tennis Club - 0034 952 818 662

Los Granados Tennis Club has two paddle tennis and three tennis courts. There is a tennis school for children aged four and over every afternoon (close to Bellavista de Princesa Kristina and La Duquesa townhouses).
